17 May 2010 - Congratulations to the England Cricket Team

Well done England - Winners of the World 20/20 Cricket Competition, congratulations to Paul Collingwood and the rest of the lads for a great achievement and putting over one on the Aussies once again. Looking forward to the next Ashes series and doing them in thier own back yard...well we can dream anyway.

English Flag Flown Outside Lewis District Council For The First Time.

Well done to Lewes councillor Sharon Davy who mounted a campaign to have the St Georges flag flown outside the East Sussex towns district council rather than the usual Union flag on St Georges Day. Despite opposition from other politically correct councillors the motion was carried during a meeting in February and the Flag was flown this past St Georges Day. She argued to councillors that people in England have started to overcome the feeling they ought to suppress their sense of national identitity and were excited by St George's Day without "embarrassment or fear of reproach". Well Done to her and a hearty 'SHAME ON YOU' to the cowards who voted against it.
